Limassol Marina once again brought together people of all ages to take part in its “Going Green Together” initiative on 25th September 2022. The environmental event achieved its goals of contributing to a cleaner environment while also creating a lot of excitement and education around the global zero waste principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, through interactive and educational activities during the day.

The two-part day event, began early in the morning with the popular “Clean the beach with your SUP” (stand up paddle) at Limassol Marina’s Peninsula Beach. Those with paddles cleaned the surface of the coastline from rubbish while Limassol Marina’s diving team did a great job of picking up similar objects that could harm marine life from deeper parts of the sea.

The event became more sociable and educational when it moved to the Limassol Marina Square for an afternoon of fun for family and friends. Everyone involved had a great time learning about how we can reduce the rubbish we produce, how we can reuse some items and how we should recycle the recycling materials through interactive activities, games, workshops, and a live art installation. Mix FM was there to broadcast everything that was going on live to radio listeners and spread the word.

Limassol Marina is dedicated to protecting the ocean’s ecosystems and is thankful to everyone who participated and acted as one for a greener world. Planning of the next event has already started and promises to bring even more people together.
