The annual carnival event "80+YEARS" organised by Studio 8 and Limassol Municipality, will take place this year at Trakasol Cultural Centre with Limassol Marina as co-organiser.
Being held in memory of Kostakis Mavrogenis (1941-2007), who was a loyal supporter of Limassol Carnival and a chariot maker, leaving his own mark on the city, the event will take place on Saturday, 26th
February from 20:00 to 22:00. During the event, a special recognition for a group of cantadors named “Κανταδόροι Γιωργαλλέτου” will be done, for their contribution to the Limassol Carnival for more than 80 years with a history that started back in the 1940s.
The scientific curation of the event has been assigned to Mr Mimis Sophocleous, the director of the Pattiheio Municipal Museum of Historical Archive and Study Center of Limassol, while the entire curatorial and organizational work has been carried out by Studio 8.
The entrance to the event will be free while health protocols and priority will be strictly followed, with no more than 250 attendees to the organisation. The event will also be recorded and screened at Alpha Cyprus on the 4th
of March 2022 at Louis Night Show.
