Cyprus-Israel Regatta 2019
11 – 19 October
Collaborative international sailing event keeps growing

The 9th edition of the highly anticipated Cyprus-Israel Regatta will take place from the 11th to 19th October. Organised by the Israel Yacht Club (IYC), Limassol Marina and Tel Aviv Marina, this major sailing event brings together sailing enthusiasts from across the region to compete in several challenging offshore yacht races. A non-racing flotilla is also open to boats that comply with all requirements for international voyage.

The Cyprus-Israel Regatta dates back to 2011 and came about as a result of the close alliance and common objectives between the two organizing clubs, Israel Yacht Club IYC and Famagusta District Sailing Club, which are to enhance the relationship between the countries in the Eastern Mediterranean, to promote sailing in the region and to make the Regatta an annual international event. The 2019 edition of this competition seeks to continue this tradition.

Limassol is in one of Cyprus’ most vibrant cities and serves as the perfect base for sailing to nearby port destinations. Limassol Marina offers high quality yachting services and facilities, as well as recreational and leisure activities, serving as the ideal location for the Regatta to take place. It has also played host to multiple sailing regattas co-hosted by the Israeli and Cypriot sailing communities for several years, cementing its reputation as a world-class venue for holding events of this calibre. Last year, Limassol Marina was the host for the European ORC Championship.
