Jamie Oliver celebrated the opening of the first Jamie Oliver Kitchen in Cyprus
World-renowned English chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author Jamie Oliver was an honoured guest at a private event to celebrate the exciting opening of the first Jamie Oliver Kitchen in Cyprus, at Limassol Marina.
Held on Thursday evening, 2nd February, this exclusive event saw members of the PHC Franchised Restaurants Group, members of the Limassol Marina Ltd, official representatives of Jamie Oliver’s restaurants in Cyprus, famous food bloggers, media and several other special guests, gathered together to enjoy the launch of what is anticipated to be a favoured dining destination in Cyprus. Guests had the opportunity to meet Jamie Oliver in person and enjoy a special cocktail menu, designed, and prepared exclusively for this exclusive occasion.
During his short visit in Limassol, Jamie Oliver had the time to spend some time with his team in the kitchen, cook live in front of all the participants and stroll around the marina. Referring to the opening of the new restaurant in Limassol, he pointed out “I am very excited because this is the very first JOK in the whole of Europe. Number one and it is here in Limassol on this incredible like little mini port here, with all the boats, its beautiful, and even in the winter, blue skies! So, it is a very exciting place for me right now.” He also stated that “Whenever you are kind of creating restaurants and menus, you always think about the location, and because we are right on the sea, because it is very busy here at night-time, it is very romantic.” Regarding Cyprus, he mentioned “I love Cyprus, it’s beautiful. 1 million people crammed into a tiny little space with loads of beaches. What could go wrong? It is a beautiful place”.
After Bali and Brazil, Jamie Oliver Kitchen which opened its doors at Limassol Marina recently, is the third restaurant of the franchise globally. As Jamie said “JOK is a much more of a global menu, fresh ingredients, delicious flavours and very comforting foods, nothing too complicated. But you know if you look in the Kitchen it is a proper kitchen, and we are cooking everything fresh, and it is just delicious”.
