OnBoard Issue 10: Discover Cyprus from the water

OnBoard Issue 10: Discover Cyprus from the water image

Date

20th October 2026

From quiet bays and sea caves to underwater sculptures and encounters with marine life, chartering from Limassol Marina reveals a side of Cyprus that can only be reached by sea.

There is a different way to experience Cyprus when the coastline becomes your route rather than your destination. From the center of the island’s southern coast, Limassol marina is a natural departure point for exploring Limassol Bay and beyond, opening access to places that remain out of reach from land.

Heading west, the urban coastline gives way to cliffs, quiet bays, and open stretches of water. Within Limassol Bay, Governor’s Beach and the pristine White Stones offer inviting places to swim and anchor, while further towards Paphos, Petra tou Romiou provides a spectacular setting, particularly at sunset. The waters also offer excellent opportunities for diving, with visibility of 15 to 25 meters, while the coastline supports an array of wildlife, from griffon vultures and migratory osprey to loggerhead and green turtles.

Further east, the scenery changes to lighter waters, sea caves and reefs rich with marine life. The harbor at Zygi makes a charming stop, dolphins can sometimes be spotted alongside the boat, and the white sands of Kornos provide another beautiful place to pause. Near Ayia Napa, MUSAN offers a particularly unusual experience: 91 underwater sculptures by Jason deCaires Taylor, now serving as a habitat for coral and fish and accessible directly from a yacht’s swim platform.

Charters from Limassol Marina can be tailored to the experience and time available, with half-day and full-day options and packages based on nautical miles. For a completely relaxed day on the water, chefs can come aboard, while Marina restaurants can also deliver food directly to the dock.
