Limassol Marina supports European efforts to protect tourism through HECTOR Project 

As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and resilient destination, Limassol Marina is a proud partner of the HECTOR Project, an EU-funded initiative focused on enhancing the protection of touristic sites across Europe. 

Implemented from December 2023 to May 2026, the HECTOR Project (enHancing protECTion Of touristic sites in euRope) brought together 18 partners from five countries, including law enforcement agencies, research institutions, municipalities, tourism operators, and security experts. The project aims to strengthen preparedness, prevention, and response capabilities through improved cooperation, risk assessment tools, training and awareness initiatives. 

As partner in the project, Limassol Marina is contributing to a wider European effort to develop stronger security standards for tourism destinations and public spaces. The initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between tourism stakeholders and security professionals in creating environments where visitors, residents and businesses can feel confident and protected. 

By supporting initiatives such as HECTOR, Limassol Marina continues to play an active role in promoting safer, more resilient tourism experiences in Cyprus and across Europe.
