A charity morning at Limassol Marina with the Little Heroes Foundation.

On Saturday, 20 December 2025, swimmers took to the water for their ninth annual charity event, “Swim with the Special Forces (ΟΥΚ) for the Little Heroes Foundation,” a 1.5-kilometer swim to raise donations for the Children’s Oncology Unit and send a powerful message in support of children battling cancer. At the same time, activity was also unfolding above Limassol Marina, where our helipad was used by a Cyprus Police helicopter as part of the morning’s operations, adding a striking and unexpected element to the day’s program.

Between 09:00 and 12:00, the helicopter carried out a series of scheduled landings and take-offs, with movements at 09:35, 10:15, 10:40 and 11:45, offering swimmers and visitors a close-up view of a carefully coordinated operation. The helicopter activity was carried out in collaboration with Police Inspector B’ K. Xanthos Georgiades, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and safely throughout the event.

By making our helipad available, Limassol Marina was able to support the practical needs of this highly-anticipated charity event with a strong social focus, contributing behind the scenes to a morning that combined public participation, operational precision and a shared sense of purpose.

Taking place just a few days before Christmas each year, this event brings together individuals, institutions and the public to stand in solidarity with every child facing the difficult battle against cancer. By making our facilities openly available for such initiatives, Limassol Marina continues to play a quiet but meaningful role in bringing people, institutions and causes together in support of the wider community.
