Three nights of open-air cinema, art and culture at Limassol Marina

The first edition of Rues Ciné Art: The Marina Experience concluded successfully after transforming Limassol Marina’s Slipway into Cyprus' newest open-air and culture festival from 12–14 June.

Over three evenings, hundreds of visitors gathered on the sea to experience cinema, art and culture, creating a unique atmosphere where people came together and enjoyed three days of outdoor entertainment. 

From beloved family favourites to timeless classics, each screening attracted audiences of all ages, reaffirming the growing demand for premium outdoor cultural experiences in Cyprus. Comfortable lounge seating, food and beverage experiences, live music and the marina setting created an immersive festival atmosphere that extended well beyond the films themselves.

Beyond the cinema programme, visitors enjoyed a vibrant programme of creative activities, including outdoor art exhibitions, live artistic interventions and hands-on workshops for children and families featuring pottery, painting, graffiti and sensory art. Throughout the three-day festival, Limassol Marina became a lively meeting point where creativity, entertainment and community engagement coexisted in a welcoming environment.

The success of the first edition demonstrates the potential of innovative cultural initiatives that activate public spaces while making cinema and the arts accessible to wider audiences.

The organisers extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the festival their artists, workshop facilitators, volunteers, production crews, partners, media representatives and the hundreds of visitors who embraced the vision of Rues Ciné Art from day one.

Following an overwhelmingly positive response from audiences and partners alike, Rues Ciné Art is now established as a new cultural institution for Limassol. The organising team is already preparing the festival's second edition, which will be announced soon, continuing its mission to bring exceptional open-air cinema and artistic experiences to the city's waterfront.
